Jefferson Performing Arts Center

The Junior Philharmonic Society of New Orleans

Our mission is to give talented young student instrumentalists, vocalists and dancers an opportunity to perform in a recital held in a professional setting, and to teach music appreciation to children attending the programs. Performers are chosen by audition, and all performances are free and open to the public.

“Performing in the The Junior Philharmonic Society concert was one of the highlights of my time at Tulane University. Not only was I able to witness the unwavering talents of other young performers in New Orleans, but I also had the honor of receiving the John Tobin Award! It is the Junior Philharmonic Society and honors like the John Tobin Award that allow me to continue pursuing what I absolutely love to do- music.”  – Olivia Gilbert, pianist, Tulane University Class of 2018
