History
Hysell Ballet Arts has helped dance take its rightful place within the arts community of New Orleans for over 45 years. Started by the late Harvey Hysell, Hysell Ballet Arts educates by directing dancers of all ages in their pursuit of the arts and offers opportunities for dancers, interested in professional careers, to continue their study and to gain experience. Mr. Hysell, a famed performer, costumiere, and set designer, choreographed many classical ballets featured in the Hysell Ballet Art repertoire such as Coppelia, Giselle, and The Nutcracker.
