New Orleans Ballet Association

New Orleans Ballet Association (NOBA)

The New Orleans Ballet Association (NOBA) serves as the Central Gulf region’s leading nonprofit dance presenting and service organization, dedicated exclusively to cultivating and expanding access to the art of dance. Through a unique dual mission, NOBA presents a vibrant season of world-class dance performances and provides comprehensive, year-round education and community programs that are tuition-free and accessible to all.

Each year, NOBA’s Main Stage Season features a curated lineup of internationally acclaimed dance companies and artists — spanning genres, cultures, and styles. For the 2025–2026 season at the Mahalia Jackson Theater, NOBA proudly presents a dynamic and diverse array of performances, including the return of the iconic Dance Theatre of Harlem on October 11; a groundbreaking collaboration between BODYTRAFFIC, world-renowned choreographer Trey McIntyre, and New Orleans’ own Preservation Hall Jazz Band on November 15; the electrifying Tango After Dark, direct from Argentina on January 24; and audience favorite Hubbard Street Dance Chicago on March 21, featuring the New Orleans debut of works by Matthew Rushing of Alvin Ailey and Broadway legend Bob Fosse. These performances are thoughtfully selected to inspire, engage, and reflect the rich cultural landscape of New Orleans, while fostering artistic excellence and meaningful exchange.

In tandem with performances, NOBA reaches more than 33,000 individuals annually through a wide range of concerts, classes, workshops, masterclasses, and lectures for ages 4 to 80+. NOBA’s nationally recognized, award-winning education programs offer more than 5,500 tuition-free dance and wellness classes and workshops each year, held at up to 20 neighborhood-based sites across the Greater New Orleans area. Programs are designed to be inclusive and accessible, serving participants of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds — from young children to seniors — with a focus on equity, healing, and lifelong engagement with the arts. These initiatives include a comprehensive, professional training program for youth, beginning with Early Childhood at age 4, progressing through the Preparatory Program at age 6, and culminating in the acclaimed Pre-Professional Program that prepares students for careers in dance; the joyful and community-driven Senior Dance Fitness Program; and the life-enhancing Dance for Parkinson’s Program, which provides movement experiences that support physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being.

BRAVO (Ballet Resource And Volunteer Organization) is NOBA’s membership-based volunteer group, dedicated to supporting the organization’s mission through service, advocacy, and community engagement.
