Louisiana Creole Research Association

LA Creole presented a program for its members recently at the Julian Poydras Center in Pointe Coupee, LA. The day was hosted by Julie Eshelman-Lee, historian, author, director Creole West Productions, and LA Creole Charter Member and Brian Costello, author, historian, and founding archivist of the Historical Materials Collection Pointe Coupee Parish Library. Following presentations on the history of Pointe Coupee and its Creole population, members joined in a sharing session of their own Pointe Coupee family histories. The afternoon provided tours of the Pointe Coupee Parish Courthouse, St. Francis Chapel, and the Chenal Cemetery.
